New Academy in Tieling City, China

Hutchinson Group independent consultants plan to develop a new academy for 7th and 8th grade students interested in study in America.

Tieling lies in the north of Liaoning Province in the middle of Songliao Plain. The city neighbors Shenyang and Fushun to the south , Siping of Jilin Province to the north. Tieling covers a total land area of 13,000 square kilometers while the city proper is 638 sq km.

The total population is 3,004,000. Tieling is a multinational area where Han, Manchu, Korea, Mongolia, Hui, Xibo, Uygur and Russian live in compact community of which Han nationality is 70% of the total. Tieling town has a history of more than 1300 years. Liaotaizu smelted silver in this place in 917 changing Fu State to Yinzhou---Silver State.

Tieling famous cultural relics: White Pagoda and Ciqing Temple at Dragon-head Mountain built in Tang Dynasty, Shantou Pass, Guyu Town, Shangbian Wall, Victory Bellfry and Stone Tower in Yilu, together with Tomb of Councilor Erge of Qing Dynasty and Tomb of Handmaid of Jin Dynasty. All these rich cultural relics display high wisdom and lofty architecture artisanship of the ancestors and mark the long history of Tieling.

Tieling is a place propitious for giving birth to great men. Over the past thousands of years, people of various nationalities lived and multiplied on this splendid land, many truly great men were born here including famous personages in every age in both military and literary field. During Ming Dynasty, there was General Li Chengliang who achieved great success in war, another General Li Rusong led an expedition army to defeat the Japanese army in Korea. There was a famous finger painter Gao Qipei and famous calligrapher Wei Wenwei in Qing Dynasty. There are numerous officials having served in government and the army, public figures, experts and scholars working at home and abroad. Especially Zhou Enlai, a contemporary giant deeply beloved by the Chinese people, once studied in Yingang School of Tieling. Zhou Enlai kept high aspiration at heart and towered above the rest in height of intellect when he was a child. His logion “May we meet at the time when China takes off in the world” has come true. Nowadays Yingang School has turned into” Relic Site of Zhou Enlai’s Childhood School”. All these add to great honor for Tieling.
