BETTY ANDERSON GUHMAN Partner

Betty Anderson Guhman, Partner, a native Arkansan, returned to Arkansas in 2005 following nine years of public service in Washington, D.C. In Washington she served as Border and Transportation Security Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Special Advisor to US Drug Enforcement Administrator Asa Hutchinson, and Chief of Staff in Arkansas's Third District Congressional office.
Prior to her Washington service, she was a tenured professor at the University of Arkansas Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminal Justice. While at the U of A, Guhman also served as Director of the Baccalaureate Social Work Program and Director of the Fulbright School of Public Affairs.
For over thirty years, Betty has provided management consultation and in-service training for local, state and national organizations, including serving as consultant to Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton and the Department of Human Services, on the settlement team for federal child welfare class action lawsuit.
In honor of thirty years of public service to Arkansas, the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences has recently recognized Ms. Guhman as a Distinguished Alumni. She has also been appointed Adjunct Associate Professor in the UA Fulbright College.
Betty graduated from Springdale High School, received a BA degree from the University of Arkansas and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
